About Me
A qualified vetinary phyiostherapist, with a passion for animals
About Tessa Hughes
I developed a passion for animals early on, volunteering at rescue centers where I gained practical skills, and working in veterinary practices and kennels where I gained practical skills. I earned a First-Class Honours degree in BSc Applied Animal Science with Therapy from Hartpury University, then completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Veterinary Physiotherapy at the University of Nottingham and am currently pursuing my MSc.
For the past two years, I have worked as a Veterinary Nursing Assistant, gaining practical knowledge in veterinary care that complements my physiotherapy work. This experience has enhanced my clinical skills, deepened my understanding of animal behavior and welfare, and improved my ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary veterinary team.
I am fully insured and a registered member of The Institute of Registered Veterinary & Animal Practitioners (IRVAP), which accredits professionals in animal therapies, including veterinary physiotherapy. This membership ensures that practitioners maintain high standards of clinical expertise, professionalism, and ethical care.
